| This article discusses the process for downloading .CSV files from our many reports in Safari |
- Many of our reports offer an "Export CSV" button within the UI.
- Within most browsers, the Export CSV button starts a download of a .csv file with data from the report. Safari will display the .csv file directly within the browser window itself.
- Safari displaying the .csv file directly is not a bug but may not be intended behavior.
In order to work around this behavior to download the file, please perform the following steps:
- Pull up your application to the "Reports" section
- Select the report and the date/time range of data you wish to export.
- Click on the export button in the upper right corner and select "Export to CSV"
- Again, because Safari is designed to handle the raw data inside of the browser, the next thing you see will be a page showing your raw data. Safari will not prompt to save the file somewhere to your local machine. To save the file locally, right-click (or control-click) on the page, and select "Save Page As":
- After the "Save Page As..." another prompt will show up allowing you to choose the file name and where you wish to save the file. Change "Format" to "Page Source". You'll notice the file extension in the file name line change to .csv. Highlight the name of the file so you can rename it:
That's it, you've just exported your data to a .csv file that can be opened with Excel or any other spreadsheet application.
